Interpreting wildflowers and using collage
Rachelle’s most recent artworks include her interpretation of Alberta wild flowers, along with some collage pieces.
Inspired by the wildflower and their resiliency, Kearl explores the similarities of wildflowers to human resiliency. Always a reminder of what we as humans are capable of.
A balance of abstract and representation have been purposefully intermingled with vibrancy, movement and visual interest. Negative painting has always been a theme in Rachelle’s paintings.
The mixed media/collage series, that Rachelle has titled: Patterns From the Past have vintage fabrics/papers that she has been collecting over the years from estate sales, and even found some wallpaper original to the 1961 house she lives in.
